Travel Awards


The HCV 2017 Symposium is pleased to offer travel awards. Award recipients will receive complimentary registration and five (5) nights of hotel accommodations at the Heritage House Hotel. The accommodations will be reserved by the Symposium Secretariat for arrival on Sunday, 25 September and departure on Friday, 29 September. The cost to stay any additional nights would be at the award recipient’s own expense.  The prepaid registration fee will be reimbursed to the credit card it was purchased on upon confirmation of the award.


Applicant Eligibility


Applicants must be Graduate Students, Post Doctoral Fellows or new Faculty within the first three years of their first faculty appointment and be the presenting author of an abstract.


The award is available to anyone who meets the above criteria, without geographical restrictions. Support will be awarded based on the abstract ranking and availability of funds. Scholarships are awarded to the individual and are non-transferable. 


Application Process


  • All applicants are required to register for the Symposium, submit an abstract and request a travel award.. Visit the Registration page to submit your online registration.
  • In your registration confirmation email, you will receive a link to the abstract submission site. Submit an abstract as a presenting author and request a travel award during the submission process.


The following information is required by the funders and is requested during the application process:

  • Supervisor’s name, organization/institution, mailing address and email
  • Gender
  • Ethnicity
  • Country of Citizenship
  • Status: Student, Post Doctoral Fellow or new Faculty Member
